Residence

The international Open Call on the theme of “ Deep” resulted in 296 national and international submissions, which were carefully examined by an internal jury in a three-stage selection process.

At the end of this process, eight Hallstatt AIR artists from different artistic disciplines were nominated for the residencies 25.05.2021 – 24.06.2021:

The group of artists was accommodated in the Pension Sarstein and the adjacent Hotel Heritage in the center of Hallstatt for one month. The artist support program began with a seven-day introductory phase. During this orientation phase, it was possible to explore the historic town of Hallstatt together and get to know its organizations and people. Furthermore, the exhibition venues were visited in advance in order to develop an initial feeling for the initial spatial situation. The remaining three weeks were available for production in various workspaces of the HTBLA, the municipality and private individuals in Hallstatt. Six projects were developed and elaborated at these locations for the final exhibition at the Schloss Grub site.
